All tropical evergreen forests can be classified as lowland forest and
high-land forest. A lowland type is the richest one, in terms of
both Beauty and biological diversity. It is unfortunately being
destroyed very fast by locals, who's goal is to become "as rich as westerners".
Thus almost all
of this beauty is gone now in South of Eastern Nepal. However, a small
(few square
kilometers) patch of this kind of forest still remains in Jhapa
district. (But it is being logged heavily every day). These video-shots of animals were taken in this patch -
entirely near my tent, where I stayed silently. During only one evening
and one morning I saw many birds, 2 species of monkeys, monitor lizard
and other beautiful creatures of God. |
